Safe Environment Training and Requirements

Safe Environment Training is a program designed by the Diocese of La Crosse to prevent child sexual abuse.  All employees and volunteers, including youth ministers and chaperones, are required to complete the program before working with children.  To successfully complete the Safe Environment Program, the following steps need to be taken:

 *Note: If completing the Safe Environment Program is being asked of you, your parish can assist you in completing the above requirements.  The parish priest, the Director of Religious Education, and/or parish office, should have all of the materials needed.  If your parish does not have these materials, the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry will assist you in successfully completing the program. 

Simply read the materials listed above, and send the Basic Background Check and both Employee Volunteer Questionnaire forms, along with $2 for each background check to be done to:

*NOTE:  Youth Ministers should have record of their completion of the Safe Environment Program with the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Diocese of La Crosse.  Those who volunteer or chaperone must have records of their completion of the program at their parish.
