Lay Formation Institute
(from the Office of Ministries - Diocese of La Crosse)
LFI is a program of formation for active lay persons who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Faith and develop their pastoral abilities in order to be a greater leaven in their parishes and in the world. If you sign up for the youth ministry specialization you will be equipped with all of the practical tools you need for this ministry. The program involves nine weekends (Friday evening to Saturday evening) a year for two years. In most cases, students are sponsored by their parishes in exchange for a commitment to some parish ministry or apostolate. The weekends are held at several retreat facilities around the Diocese, and a new class is started every two years.
