The Mission of the
Office of Catechesis and Evangelization
The Office of Catechesis and
Evangelization assists the Bishop, the chief teacher of the
Diocese, in planning, implementing and evaluating
evangelization and catechetical programs for families,
children, adolescents and adults. These initiatives of
formation are to foster and guide the work of handing on the
rich treasure of the Catholic Faith, which leads to knowing
and loving Jesus Christ and serving Him by serving our
neighbor.
In conjunction with this mission, the
Office of Catechesis and Evangelization conducts training
programs and offers support for parish and deanery directors
or coordinators of religious education. It also assists in
training school teachers and catechists in the use of the
Diocesan Religion Curriculum. The Office maintains the
curriculum library containing reference and audiovisual
resources as well as coordinates the Diocesan Religion
Certification Program.
Finally, the Office of Catechesis and
Evangelization oversees the work of Hmong Ministry and
Ministry to Persons with Special Needs.
