"Given that evangelization is the paradigm of all the Church's missionary activity, the baptismal catechumenate [RCIA process], which is joined to it, is the model of its catechizing activity." (General Directory for Catechesis, 90)

The RCIA process is divided into four periods:

1.  Pre-Catechumate/Evangelization

2.  Catechumenate

3.  Purification and Enlightenment

4.  Mystagogy
