2010 Diocesan Wish List

“For it is in giving that we receive.”
St. Francis of Assisi
Parishes, schools, associated
departments and charitable organizations were asked to
submit a list of needs, either for the organization or for
those within the community.
There are several requests for food and
gas cards. Many have had work hours cut or have been laid
off and are struggling with basic needs. Can you imagine
being hungry or not being able to get where you need to be?
Charitable organizations are stretched to the maximum trying
to meet the demands in our community. Food stamps will not
pay for health and beauty products such as shampoo,
toothpaste, toilet paper, and laundry soap. We all need the
dignity of being clean, groomed and feeling good.
“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
Mother Teresa
·
Our Catholic schools are asking for tuition
assistance. A Catholic education is vital to our children
and unfortunately families have had to withdraw their
children to meet other financial responsibilities.
·
The Catholic Charities’ gift list is tailored
to their client requests. Can you help make a child’s
Christmas sweeter?
·
As well, there are requests for parishes and
schools to enhance the environment and improve or expand
programs.
What can you do? Do you have an extra
bookcase, boombox, hat and mittens? Perhaps you belong to
an organization that can “adopt” an item. Contact
information is included. Should you have a requested item,
please contact the parish, school, or organization
directly. These donations are tax deductible.

Needs List may be directed to Margot Lorraine, Stewardship &
